Feeling tomatoes

After going to the museum, I felt like eating something with tomato. So my friend and I head to this taiwanese cafe, Crazy Noodles, located in Newmarket. I ordered this tomato chicken served on rice. Although it's a simple meal but I just have this crave for it.

Tomato chicken rice (Not good because it's too sour. If it is a little bit sweeter then it's balance with the sourness.)

More drinks from Hulu Cat

Caramel Milk Tea with Egg Pudding (I think I should have ask for less sweet because it was way too sweet for me. But it was nice and very unique taste. $6)
Lychee Creamy Milk (It actually tastes like yoghurt drink. I really like the smoothness of this drink especially with Lychee flavour which is my favourite. As you can see from the pic, pearls is included in it because the staff got a mistake but it goes well with the drink. Love it. $6)

Mighty Angus only at McD

If you are a McDonald fan, you will notice that McD offers new special menu from time to time. It doesn't matter which country the McD is, of course it's their way of doing their marketing, offering new things to the customers.

For McD in New Zealand, Mighty Angus and Grand Angus were introduced a few months ago. It's all about the quality angus beef, a premium tender and juicy beef fresh from New Zealand farms. McD has been supporting NZ cattles farmers for more than 30 years. They are now supporting the New Zealand Aungus industry, offering quality Angus beef in McD's two new menu, Mighty Angus and Grand Angus. Angus cattle is referring to two Scottish breeds of cattle which are naturally polled (no horns).

I still haven't try out the Grand Angus yet but I will do so next time. For the Mighty Angus, you can see the pics as shown below:

A thick, tender and juicy Angus beef, two slices of cheese, a great piece of bacon, slices of onions with some kind of BBQ sauce (not sure what's the exact sauce is but it does taste a bit like BBQ) and sandwitch with two soft fresh sourdough.
Mighty Angus...such a heaven!!! One is seriously not enough! I love it so much.

This is a regular value meal

If you are in New Zealand or in Australia and if you still haven't try out the Angus beef, please do so. It is one good stuff that you shouldn't miss.

Tiramisu from Rio Kitchen

Rio Kitchen which is an asian bakery shop just opened their new branch on Lorne Street a few months ago. It has a fridge facing the street which displays a variety of lovely cakes. Of course, I got attempted by the looks and so I bought one to try. I chose the Tiramisu which you can see as below:

I have tasted a lot of Tiramisu from bakery shops and usually I found that most of them are just disasters. However for this one from Rio Kitchen, I'm surprised that it tasted quite ok. It is soft and the espresso flavour is there. The only thing missing is the brandy. Still I can't expect the best one from a non-Itallian shop. Not bad I would say.

Vivace Restaurant and Bar

During my birthday recently, my uncle and his family brought me to a restaurant on high street for dinner. The restaurant is located on the first floor. With woodden floors, brick walls and high ceiling, the setting gives a warm ambience to the place. Great interior I would say. The place has a lively atmosphere so it is quite loud there but it's all good though.

We ordered one hot tapas which is basil with cream cheese stuffed piquillo peppers with hearb oil. This is good and I like it. The cream cheese really brings out the whole flavour for this dish and it goes well with the piquillo peppers. The dish also look cute to me :) $9.

We also ordered this lemon chicken, bacon, figs, feta & caramellised onion pizza. This is also very good. The pizza is not hard and dry but rather soft and just taste awesome. $19.

A friend of ours ordered the market fish for his main. $34.
My uncle and I ordered the beef scotch fillet on a potato rosti with pepperonata, green beans, and a tamarind jus. I ordered the beef to be medium done and it was perfect. The beef was so tender and juicy. Love the potato rosti even though it was a bit salty but overall it was a good main. $29.

I had a great local NZ dinner with my relatives and friend during my birthday and I can't ask for more.

Chocolate Tiramisu from Rocket Kitchen

Chocolate Tiramisu

During one of my relative's home dinner, a friend bought a whole Chocolate Tiramisu dessert all the way from Rocket Kitchen. I have tasted cakes from Rocket Kitchen and they are really good. Tasting Chocolate Tiramisu was the first time in my life. I really love the original Tiramisu but I have never tried a chocolate one.

I am a chocolate lover especially dark chocolates. So this dessert is a total combination of chocolate and Tiramisu which are my favourites. The texture of the mascarpone sandwich is very creamy and smooth. The two layer dark chocolate espresso cake is very soft, not to forget the top espresso ganache goes well with the rest. A good dessert I would say.

Genzui Ramen Bar

Here comes for another night again to search for great food for dinner. Together with my uncle and his family, this time we went to Genzui Ramen Bar Albert Street, which is also on level 4 of Atrium of Elliott. It is also located in front of Crown Plaza hotel along Albert Street. Even though it is a small place but it is always crowded and customers usually have to wait for awhile for seats. Since it is a ramen bar, I think their ramen is quite good. Without hesitate, I ordered one of the beef ramen (sorry I forgot the exact name for it). We also ordered some of the side dishes as shown below.

Beef Ramen (One of the best ramen I have ever tasted. The soup especially was very clear and soothing with excellent taste. The beef was very tender and soft while the texture for the ramen (noodles) was just right. It was an excellent dish to me. I recommended. The price for this was quite average.

Gyoza [dumplings] (It was good and delicious.)

Takoyaki (This was really good. It has lots of seafood stuffing inside each balls.)

This place also has rice dishes and other special menu. Overall, I had a great dinner with my relatives. I would definitely be coming back to this place again.
